STUDY SKILLS BOOTCAMP
Learn how to study effectively!
Daily, students are expected to go home after school and "study" the work they have completed. However, quite often students are not shown HOW to study the information. Our Study Skills Bootcamp does exactly that- it gives students the tools and tips they need to succeed in their studies.
Date: Saturday 24th February, 2018
Where: Dundalk Study Academy, 30 Clanbrassil Street Dundalk
Time: 9:30am- 2:25pm approx.
Run by: The Super Generation
Tickets cost €50 or €40 each if you bring a friend.
(Please note: Only students who are currently attending a full term of after-school study or a full term of grinds are classed as members.)
The seminar is an interactive, experiential workshop where the students will:
- Develop an understanding of growth mindset, to enhance their motivation and confidence to undertake study.
- Learn about the importance of developing emotional well-being and resilience to help them through the year.
- Be introduced to the effective POKER study system which shows them how to create effective, smart one page summary notes and create mind maps.
- Be introduced to the 5 X 5 revision system.
All students will be given a free copy of the super generation study journal which aids them in organising their study throughout the year along with reinforcing what was covered in the seminar.
**All students must take a school textbook, preferably one with heavy text content such as history/ science/ geography/ business. The facilitator will be showing students how to cut down on information and how to make their own concise notes.***
