What a morning!!!
The Junior Entrepreneur Programme

We were delighted to present to the 6th class pupils of St. Francis NS our top tips on becoming young Entrepreneurs! We chatted everything business- what it takes to set up a business; the challenges, the successes, the teamwork, the self belief & the motivation. The students shared their inspirations & aspirations.

These fabulous young people have entered the Junior Entrepreneur Programme and will be producing, marketing, branding, financing and selling their product to customers. We are in safe hands judging by the brains of the future πŸ˜‰ A big thank you to Ms. McKevitt for having us. ❀

If you would like us to talk to your students feel free to contact us on

1. Fresh Start
Forget the past, work towards the future. Treat this year as a fresh start. Work on improving you! Eat healthy, exercise and get into a consistent study routine. Start as you mean to go on.

2. Organisation is key
Buy all of the stationary that you love! Get your notebooks, books & copies ready for each subject. Start collecting and sorting your class notes from day one- it is so important to have a folder for EVERY subject!

3. Little and Often
The number one piece of advice our past students offer to our current students is to start now and do a little each day. Keep on top of classwork & homework and spend 10 minutes each night reviewing what you did in class that day. Do not just study what you are good at. Tackle the hard questions head on; this will build your confidence in the subjects that you are not as strong in. They will no longer feel so daunting!

4. Exam Papers
USE EXAM PAPERS FROM DAY ONE. Even if your teacher hasn’t asked you to get them yet- buy them now! The key to success is to study and practice directly from your papers. This is how you become familiar with the layout of the paper and answering the questions. It is also a good way of recalling and studying specific information rather than just sitting and reading endless pages of notes.

5. Weekly Study Plan
Do out a weekly study plan- be realistic! Write down what hours you are free each evening and at weekends. Study in short blocks, allowing yourself a break every 45-minutes to an hour. Reward yourself during break times whether it is with your phone or a cup of tea and a biscuit! Study by topic rather than by time slots, for example, revise photosynthesis rather than saying β€œI will spend 2 hours on Biology”. Give yourself clear, achievable goals.

6. Balance
Life is short. Be young. Spend time with your friends and family. Do lots of the things you love best. Because before you know it, you will be β€œadulting”. 🀣

And that’s a wrap! DSA 2017/18- what a year!!!

Best of luck to all of our wonderful students over the next few weeks- you are amazing!!! Thank you for the memories.

Before the students left us today, we asked them to describe Dundalk Study Academy in one sentence and here are just some of their answers…

Relax before the exam!

Today I met one of our lovely students out shopping. She told me she was buying new PJ’s, putting on fresh bedsheets & buying her favourite food to relax tomorrow evening ahead of exams. And I thought to myself- you’re just right!

With the stress of the next few weeks looming for exam students- it is so important that you look after yourself first. Do those little things that make you happy. And remember, at the end of the day, it’s only an exam.
